Roger Walker Travel's Company History

It is with great pride that I look back on the last 10 years of trading as Roger Walker Travel Limited.  We started from very humble beginnings in 1998 working from the back bedroom of my Hampshire home.  Today the Roger Walker Travel group consists of four companies;  Tuscany Too, Ski 2, Tennis Holidays and our travel agency RWT.  Our continued success has been thanks to those customers who choose to make use of our services year on year.  We believe this has been soley due to the level of service we offer and our passion for making sure that your holiday is a throughly positive experience.

We hope you will find the following potted history of the company, showing our development into the four companies we are today,  of interest.

November 1998 – Roger Walker resigns from his role as Sales and Marketing Manager for a specialist ski tour operator to set up Roger Walker Travel Ltd., based in the back bedroom of his Hampshire home. Simon Brown resigns from his position as Resorts Manager for the same ski company. 

June 1999 – Roger Walker and Simon Brown launch Ski 2. 

September 2000 – Roger Walker Travel recruits its first full-time staff member.

September 2001 - Roger Walker Travel moves to serviced offices in Kings Worthy.
 
September 2002 - Roger Walker and Simon Brown launch Tuscany Too.
 
June 2003 - Roger Walker Travel moves to larger premises at The Old Forge on the High Street in Twyford.
 
October 2003 - Roger Walker Travel acquires business from Black Swan Travel from its retiring owner Carol Frost.

June 2004 – Roger Walker Travel is selected as a finalist for the Small Business of the Year Award as part of the Winchester Business Awards 2004.

November 2005 – Roger Walker Travel acquires Tennis Holidays in the Sun from Romsey-based Sports and Leisure Ltd.

June 2006 – Roger Walker is selected as a finalist for the Entrepreneur of the Year Award as part of the Winchester Business Awards 2006.

December 2006 – Ski 2 launches its second resort of San Cassiano in the Italian Dolomites.

October 2008 - Roger Walker Travel secures the Freehold purchase of The Old Forge in Twyford as its office.
